Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 12, 2026

Cinex respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how the current website features handle data.

Content Ownership Disclaimer

Cinex does not own any videos, images, movies, TV shows, posters, artwork, or related media displayed on this website.

All rights belong to their original owners, copyright holders, production companies, distributors, studios, artists, and other relevant rights holders.

If a relevant party asks us to remove any content, we will review the request promptly and act as quickly as possible to remove the relevant content.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the information needed to operate Cinex, improve the viewing experience, protect the platform, and respond to user requests.

This may include technical data such as IP address or network identifiers, browser and device details, request headers, page activity, search queries, playback actions, API usage, rate-limit events, and basic performance information.

When you use optional features, we may also collect the information you provide, such as content request titles, email addresses submitted for content requests, video report details, issue descriptions, AI assistant messages, and related conversation history.

2. Browser Storage, Cookies, and Sessions

Cinex uses browser storage to make the site feel personal without requiring a public user account. This can include recent watches, TV episode progress, resume bookmarks, notification read state, PWA install or dismiss state, ad cooldown state, saved request email, and local AI chat history fallback.

The AI assistant may use a short-lived session cookie named cinex_session so your chat can continue across requests. You can clear local storage, cookies, and cached site data through your browser settings at any time.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to provide search, browsing, streaming, subtitle, content request, reporting, notification, download gateway, and AI assistant features.

We also use information to prevent abuse, enforce rate limits, detect suspicious automated traffic, troubleshoot errors, measure performance, improve content discovery, and manage the public catalog and admin tools.

4. Third-Party Services

Cinex uses trusted third-party services to operate the website. These may include hosting and analytics providers, database and cache providers, AI providers, media metadata services, image providers, advertising partners, and external media or download providers.

Examples include Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, Supabase, Upstash Redis, TMDB metadata and images, Fanart.tv artwork, Groq and Hugging Face for AI or semantic features, and advertising or smartlink services. Third-party sites and services may process data under their own privacy policies.

5. Analytics and Advertising

In production, Cinex may use privacy-conscious analytics and speed measurement to understand page usage, performance, and reliability. We may also display or trigger advertising links through third-party ad networks.

When you click or are redirected to a third-party advertisement, media host, or download destination, that service may collect information according to its own terms and privacy policy.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share information only when needed to run the platform, process user-submitted requests or reports, provide AI assistant responses, deliver analytics and advertising, comply with legal obligations, protect the website, or respond to valid rights-owner requests.

7. Data Retention

Some data is stored only in your browser until you clear it. Some temporary server-side data, such as AI chat session history, rate-limit counters, and cache entries, may expire automatically after a short period.

Content requests, issue reports, and admin records may be kept for as long as needed to review, respond, prevent abuse, maintain records, or improve the service.

8. Your Choices

You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser, reset AI chat history from the chat interface, avoid submitting optional forms, and stop using features that rely on third-party services.

If you submitted a request or report and want it reviewed, corrected, or removed, contact us through the available Cinex support or reporting channels.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the platform, including rate limiting, restricted admin routes, server-side validation, and controlled access to service-role operations.

No online service can guarantee complete security, so please avoid submitting sensitive personal information through public forms or the AI assistant.

10. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy when the website, service providers, features, or legal requirements change. The date above shows when this page was last updated.
